School Car Park

Thank you to all our parents who adhere to the school car park procedures.

I would like to remind parents to refrain from using the car park for dropping-off, stopping or turning at any time during the day. The school car park becomes very congested, especially in the mornings with taxis, members of staff arriving to work and delivery vehicles all attempting to enter and exit the car park. We are aware this may cause inconvenience but the on-going traffic congestion poses a serious hazard to pupils and staff. Parents are encouraged to drop-off children on Reilly Street (school side to avoid crossing the road) or to use St. Therese's car park from where children can use the pedestrian crossing to access school.

The school car park is signed accordingly and should be adhered to. Exceptions are only made for pupils or parents with mobility difficulties.

In the interests of safety we ask that all drivers reduce their speed when entering Reilly Park and show consideration to local residents if parking near the school.

Please be extra careful when using St. Therese's car park. There are many children, some very young, walking to and from vehicles in the mornings and afternoons. Please be vigilant when parking, entering or exiting the car park.

African Children's Choir

The African Children's Choir will be performing in St. Therese's Church on Friday 4th April 2014 from 7.30pm. Tickets are now available from school or the Parish Centre, costing £5 per adult and £3 per child. St. Mary's School Choir and our African Drummers will be supporting the African Choir on the night. All support is greatly appreciated.

On Tuesday 15th April 2014 all our children will have an opportunity to decorate their own Easter Egg with Thorntons. The cost for an individual Easter Egg and workshop is £2.50 per child.

Easter Disco

Our PTA Easter Disco will take place on Friday 11th April from 7pm to 9pm in the school hall. Admission is £3 per child.

Parents are reminded to ensure that appropriate arrangements are in place to collect children at the end of the disco. For safety reasons all children should be collected at the end of the disco rather than being allowed to walk home on accompanied.

An Easter Egg Hunt for each class will take place, in the school grounds, on Thursday 10th April.

The next meeting of the PTA will take place on Tuesday 29th April at 7.30pm. All support is greatly appreciated. Parents and volunteers can contact our PTA via email at stmaryspta1@hotmail.co.uk.
