Congratulations to all the children in St Mary’s who attended this year’s Speech and Drama festival.
Over 70 children participated in the competition , delivering their poems with clarity , expression and confidence.
The adjudicator was so impressed with the high standard of performance she presented 2 special awards one to, Matthew Hillen (Primary 6 ) for the most promising boy in the Primary school section and the other to Libby Rose Sullivan, ( primary 5 ) for the most promising girl .
Mrs Mc Cardles LSC class also came first place in their group work reciting the poem, ‘Bubblegum’. We are Immensely proud of you all.
Thank you to Mr O’Hagan, Miss Kelly, all our amazing teachers and classroom assistants for preparing the children for this wonderful event.
A special word of thanks to the parents for practising the poems at home and having the children prepared and dressed so impeccably in their school uniform.
We would also like to thank Mrs Ailbhe Garvey Hughes the festival adjudicator, Mr Frank Mulligan (festival President) and Mrs Patricia Mulligan (Hon secretary), for organising this hugely successful festival.
