St Mary's Primary School Banbridge

PTA Presentation

29th Sep 2020

Mrs Leanne Poland, Chairperson of St Mary’s PTA, presents a cheque for £7,000 to the Principal, Mr Des O’Hagan and the pupils of St Mary’s Primary School.

This recent donation was welcomed and very much appreciated by the school’s staff.  It was used to purchase valuable books and classroom resources, to enable the safe return of the pupils to school, following the removal of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

St Mary’s PTA continues to fund the vital Barnardo’s Time for Me Counselling service. It generously supports the school’s annual Anti Bullying campaign, it funds various parent workshops such as Maths, Literacy and First Aid, while through a variety of grant applications our PTA helps fund school sports clubs, the purchase of IT equipment such as ipads and Sphero robots.

The PTA work tirelessly to raise much needed funding, to enhance the teaching and learning experiences on offer at St Mary’s. It will be running the very successful Lotto in the near future. If you would like to take part in this year’s Lotto draws, please visit the PTA Facebook page for regular updates of how you can become involved.

St Mary's PTA has always adopted a ‘go big or go home’ approach to fundraising. Our resolve to support the school has never been stronger. Changes have to be made this year in order to make fundraising work. We will be launching our very popular PTA Lotto with a massive £3,500 worth of prize money. This is open to all; anyone can enter. We will be accepting electronic payments. Keep an eye on the PTA Facebook page and school website to find out how to get involved. To date we have had 24 winners sharing a total prize pot of £6,500.
