The Tiger who came to Tea! By Judith Kerr Primary 2 Mrs Quigley

1st Oct 2015

The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her Mummy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? What they certainly don't expect to see at the door is a big furry, stripy tiger!

The Tiger who came to tea has delighted children for over twenty years. When it was first published, Antonio Fraser called it "a dazzling first book" which would cause children to "scream with delicious pleasure at the dangerous naughtiness of the notion."

In Primary two, we have used the book as a quality stimulus for developing language and communication skills. It has been integrated easily into every area of our early years curriculum.

This gallery will allow you to see how this text has been explored, and how much learning the children gained from exposure to it.
