Costumes, Crafts, and Creepy Laughs... in Mrs Quigley's P2 Class
Halloween is a fun and exciting celebration that happens every year on October 31st. It’s a time when we enjoy dressing up in costumes, playing games, and learning about traditions.
Why Do We Celebrate Halloween?
Halloween started a long time ago to mark the end of harvest time and the beginning of winter. People believed that on this night, friendly spirits might visit, so they lit lanterns and wore costumes to keep safe and have fun. Today, we celebrate Halloween with parties, decorations, and treats.
Dress-Up Fun
One of the best parts of Halloween is dressing up. You can be anything you like — a superhero, a witch, a ghost, or even a pumpkin! We wear costumes to school, dance the Monster Dance, and have a spooky disco.
Trick-or-Treating
Some children go trick-or-treating with their families. They knock on doors and say, “Trick or treat!” to get sweets and goodies. It’s all about having fun and being kind.
In Primary 2, we might do Halloween crafts, read spooky (but not too scary) stories, and learn new words like “bat,” “witch,” and “skeleton.” It’s a great way to use our imaginations and enjoy learning together.
