Helping our feathered friends beat the winter chills Primary 2 Mrs Quigley
17th Nov 2025
Our class made apple ring bird feeders by slicing apples into rings, coating them with sunflower seeds, and securing them so they could hang easily. After preparing the feeders, we placed them on bushes and small trees around our school grounds to create safe feeding spots for birds.
Feeding birds in winter is important because cold weather makes it harder for them to find food, and providing seeds helps them survive and stay healthy. This activity not only supports wildlife but also helps us care for our local environment.
