The Nativity Story

A long time ago, in a little town called Nazareth, there lived a young woman named Mary. Mary loved God very much. One day, an angel named Gabriel came to her with a very special message: "Mary, God has chosen you to be the mother of His Son. You will call Him Jesus."

Mary trusted God and said “Yes” to His plan. This was a very important moment because Jesus is God’s greatest gift to the world.

Mary was married to Joseph, a kind and caring man. Soon after, the Roman Emperor said everyone had to go to their hometown to be counted. Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem on a donkey. It was a long journey, and Mary was about to have her baby.

When they arrived in Bethlehem, all the inns were full. There was no room for them. Finally, someone offered them a place in a stable where the animals stayed. It wasn’t grand, but it was warm and safe.

That night, Jesus was born. Mary wrapped Him in a blanket and laid Him in a manger. God’s Son had come to live among us.

Outside the town, shepherds were watching their sheep. Suddenly, the sky lit up with angels singing: "Glory to God in the highest, and peace to His people on earth!"
The angels told the shepherds the good news: the Saviour had been born. The shepherds hurried to the stable and found baby Jesus with Mary and Joseph. They were filled with joy and praised God.

Far away, wise men saw a bright star in the sky. They knew it meant something wonderful had happened. They followed the star until it led them to Jesus. They brought Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, because they knew He was a King.

And so, on that holy night, the world received its greatest gift: Jesus Christ, our Saviour. This is why we celebrate Christmas—to remember that God loves us so much that He sent His Son to bring us hope, peace, and joy.
